Husnara Aunty – Asfia Siddiqui

I discovered many fascinating aspects of her that were previously unknown to me. I’d like to take this opportunity to chime in and provide a viewpoint from an Aziz Bagh’s daughter-in-law’s perspective!

Husnara Aunty was well-acquainted with my family, which is associated with Golconda Cigarette & Zinda Tilismath. She played a pivotal role in my marriage to Zaheer. It was Akbar Aunty who initially started the marriage discussions between our families, and when Husnara Aunty visited California, she personally spoke to Zaheer about me and my lineage. She warned him that he could miss his chance with me if he didn’t act promptly, which prompted Zaheer to hasten his visit to Hyderabad!

From all the other marriage proposals I had from other distinguished families in Hyderabad, my grandfather (late Nawab Ghulam Ghouse Khan), decided to align my future with the Aziz Bagh family. His decision was driven by his firm belief that “Aziz Bagh men always keep their wives happy”!! a statement that has resonated with me and remained clear in my memory to this day.

Today, thanks to the blessings of Allah SWT, Zaheer and I are blissfully married and are the proud parents of three wonderful young adults – Omar, Nadia and Amer. MashaAllah, Omar is married to Shabana & have a 2 yr old adorable Eesah, and Nadia is married to Irfan. We are eagerly awaiting our youngest’s wedding. We owe an eternal debt of gratitude to the two extraordinary women (Akbar Aunty and Husnara Aunty) who played a pivotal role in uniting us!
